It is a concept that appeared in the 70s but nowadays is a key concept frequently used in EU documents and different international organizations referring to a significant reduction of waste in all economic activities.

Related to the Food sector, it is a concept, the EU would like to see implemented till 2035. Several calls for proposals of the Horizon Europe Programme include reference to Zero Waste and the EU encourages RDI projects in this respect.
The presentation will make an overview of research and industry opportunities to launch projects with objective solutions for Zero Waste in the food sector.

About the speaker:

Over 25 years of expertise in collaborative projects with the industry, including projects that involve technology transfer and innovation activities, carried out with public funding within the main national and European research-industry collaboration frameworks. Extensive experience in organizing idea fairs for the identification and launching of research-industry project ideas, aimed at solving technological and product-related problems for companies in the food industry.
