About the conference

The organizing committee of the International Conference *From Science to Guidance and Practice* proudly announces the organization of the 10th edition.

The meeting will be held on 24–25 September 2026 at Hotel Caro, Bucharest, Romania. It will be co-organized by the Romanian College of Pharmacists, the Center for Drug Sciences of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” Bucharest, O.F.Systems SRL and the Forum of Industrial Pharmacists Association.

This edition brings together regulatory science and practical laboratory solutions across the full pharmaceutical quality landscape. A first group of presentations will focus on topical and semisolid dosage forms, addressing the role of physico-chemical and (micro)structural testing in their assessment, as well as the quality and equivalence of locally applied, locally acting (LALA) cutaneous products in light of the finalized EMA guideline. In vitro dissolution and drug release testing will be examined from both a regulatory and compendial perspective, including the challenges, achievements, and benefits of automation in dissolution.

A strong emphasis will be placed on compendial compliance and data integrity, with presentations on recent changes to USP ⟨41⟩ and Ph. Eur. requirements for compliant weighing and on maintaining data integrity across the complete weighing lifecycle. Complementary sessions will explore laboratory automation and digitalization, from automated titration and fully automated sample preparation for content uniformity and assay testing, to broader lab digitalization in the pharmaceutical industry.

Further presentations will cover essential pillars of pharmaceutical quality control, including real-time colony counting in pharmaceutical microbiology, the purity and compliance of laboratory water, stability testing under ICH conditions, the assessment and management of chemical hazards in the laboratory and particle engineering through spray drying in pharmaceutical development.

As always, we hope that the conference will gather a significant number of undergraduate and postgraduate students, representatives of local and international regulatory authorities, academia, industry, and manufacturers of equipment for production and quality control, to share knowledge, discuss current challenges in the field, and identify new opportunities for guidance revision and new approaches in research and development.

The conference has been credited by the College of Pharmacists in Romania with 24 EFC Credits.

You are kindly asked to fill in the online registration form in order to receive updates on the program, presentations, and speakers.

As always, this conference is a chance to share knowledge, identify new opportunities for guidance revision, and discuss current challenges. See you in September!
