FSGP (From Science to Guidance and Practice) is a conference bringing together professionals from the Pharma and Food & Beverage sectors, with a focus on scientific developments, regulatory topics, laboratory applications and new technologies. The 2026 event marked the 10th edition of FSGP.
The conference is designed for laboratory professionals, quality control specialists, regulatory affairs staff, academics, students, and industry representatives from the pharmaceutical and food & beverage sectors.

About the conference
The 10th edition of the International Conference From Science to Guidance and Practice took place on 24–25 September 2026 at Hotel Caro, Bucharest, Romania.
The conference was organized in collaboration with the Romanian College of Pharmacists, the Center for Drug Sciences of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” Bucharest, OF Systems, and the Forum of Industrial Pharmacists Association.
The 2026 edition brought together regulatory science, pharmaceutical quality and practical laboratory solutions through a program covering current topics across the pharmaceutical field.
Presentations addressed the assessment of topical and semisolid dosage forms, including physico-chemical and (micro)structural testing and the quality and equivalence of locally applied, locally acting (LALA) cutaneous products in the context of the finalized EMA guideline. The program also covered in vitro dissolution and drug release testing, including regulatory and compendial requirements and the role of automation in dissolution testing.
Other sessions focused on compendial compliance and data integrity, including recent changes to USP ⟨41⟩ and Ph. Eur. requirements for compliant weighing, as well as data integrity throughout the weighing lifecycle.
Automation and digitalization were also important themes of the 2026 edition, with presentations on automated titration, fully automated sample preparation for content uniformity and assay testing, and broader approaches to laboratory digitalization in the pharmaceutical industry.
The program also covered key areas of pharmaceutical quality control, including real-time colony counting in microbiology, laboratory water purity and compliance, stability testing under ICH conditions, chemical hazard management in the laboratory, and particle engineering through spray drying in pharmaceutical development.
FSGP 2026 brought together professionals from industry, academia, regulatory organizations and equipment manufacturers, alongside undergraduate and postgraduate students, creating a framework for technical discussions, knowledge exchange and new perspectives on pharmaceutical research, development and quality control.
